Birch Bark Baskets, snowshoes, moose skin bags, or suncatchers…just a few of the many possible traditional Athabascan art projects you can make in one of TCC’s cultural program workshops. Join instructor Dixie Alexander and other expert Athabascan artists in 1-3 day workshops on traditional techniques of basketmaking, caribou hair tufting, beadwork, & porcupine quill work. Every class we will be working on different handmade items such as moose skin bags, sewing bags, coin purse, sun catchers, etc. Or you can bring your own sewing item that you need help making.
For information on class schedule, contact TCC Cultural Program Coordinator Carmen Sears, 101 Dunkel Street, Ste. 126, Fairbanks, AK 99701, PH: 907.459.3741, carmen.sears@tananachiefs.org
