August 1, 2018 at 2:30: Mikah Meyer – All 417 National Parks in One Nonstop Road Trip

Join Mikah Meyer, the man “on a mission to invite people to the outdoors, be a new type of LGBT role model, and share all 417 national parks with the world,” for a multimedia presentation about his journey, the parks, and life on the road! After losing his road trip-loving father to cancer, Meyer planned this route as a spiritual quest to honor him. Thanks to his speaking engagements and donations he receives along the way, Meyer is now two years into his three-year journey to be the first person to visit all NPS sites in one continuous trip. In addition to being featured by NPR, the National Park Foundation, and NBC News, Meyer shares his adventures across multiple social media channels, hoping to inspire others, especially those in the LGBT community, to travel more and see all national parks have to offer. Come with your travel and national park questions, as Mikah will do a Q&A following the presentation!

Meet Mikah and discover his fascinating story hosted by the Alaska Public Lands Information Center at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center,.

The presentation takes place on August 1, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. and will be followed by a supporters reception immediately afterward in the Alaska Geographic bookstore.
